Hello from the End of 2021!

December 31, 2021

Well, it’s been a while since I’ve blogged anything, and here I am at the end of 2021. It’s been quite a year, though nothing compared to 2020. Just thinking about 2020 gives me anxiety. 😅 Anyway, we made it through another 365 days and, hopefully, 2022 will bring some good news for all of us.

And speaking of good news, you might want to join in on the Hacker Public Radio NYE Show which runs for 26 hours. It’s already quite into it right now (10:48 AM EST, 15:48 UTC as I write this), but you still have time. All you need is a Mumble client and the information below to connect and participate:

Server: chatter.skyehaven.net
Port: 64738
Channel: HPR

More information on the NYE live show is available on the HPR page linked above. And if you can’t make it or missed it, fear not! You’ll be able to download the show in chunks as they’re released either from the HPR website or on your podcatcher of choice.

With that, I wish you all a safe, prosperous, and Happy New Year for 2022! 🎆

Quite a while since my last post, so I figured I’d quench the thirst for some content.

My last post was about playing old text adventure (aka, “interactive fiction”) games from days gone by on your latest hardware using interpreters like Frotz.  This followup recording on Hacker Public Radio is on an Android application called Son of Hunky Punk.  I discuss the history of SoHP and attempt to get my copy of Zork to work with it…..and I did.

Be sure to check it out here. 🙂

Following my post on Colossal Cave Adventure, I decided to record an episode based on my blog post for Hacker Public Radio (aka, “HPR”).  If you don’t know what Hacker Public Radio is, click on the link below.

In case you were wondering, anyone can record an episode for HPR and they are always in need of shows.  While they tout topics that are “of interest to hackers“, anything you have to talk about will be of interest to someone so long as it’s nothing spammy.

As for my episode, you can catch it here.  I also have other episodes I’ve recorded on HPR which you can find by clicking on my name after clicking on the episode link.
Enjoy! 🙂

Yes, the Rich Corinthian Leather has returned in Episode 72 of Linux Basement! We discuss Fedora 18, Microsoft hate, Steam+Ubuntu love, Intel’s departure from desktop mobos, and even celebrate MIDI’s 30th birthday! We also plug Jonathan Nadeau’s Sonar Project. Check it out at the following link or subcribe via iTunes or the RSS feed.
